Her Eyes Twinkled, Shone, and Pearled

There once was a girl,

Who loved to give her hair a twirl.

It didn’t matter if it was night or day,

She was incessant, some might say.

As she travelled to Rome, London, and France,

She twirled it even as she would dance.

This girl met a boy, who offered the world,

He said her eyes twinkled, shone, and pearled.

They talked about her hopes and her dreams,

She now twirled her hair even faster it seems.

The old smiled, as the young resented,

The boy and the girl were true love presented.

Oh, but wait, love does not last,

Everything becomes a thing of the past.

The curl grew lank, there was nothing to twirl,

It seems as if the oyster lost its pearl.

It ended like this,

He said he had met someone,

Her eyes also twinkled, shone, and pearled.
